Chris Young- Founder • Medicine Man • Practitioner of Kambo • Purveyor of Tribal Medicine

Chris Young and his wife Verena Young founded Soul Quest Church of the Mother Earth in September 2014. Soul Quest’s purpose is to protect the practice of North and South American Spiritual traditions, spiritual ceremonies, sacred practices and natural healing ways.

At a young age, Chris heard the call to be of service to humanity and in 1996 he became certificate in Phlebotomy and Medical assisting where he worked in a gero-psychiatric unit dealing with the study, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders with the elderly. In 1997 Chris went back to school to study Emergency Medicine and received an EMT certificate and began working as an Emergency Room Tech at a local Hospital. After several years working in the medical field and seeing the profit focused side of western medicine, Chris decided to move to Germany and spent three years studying Alternative Medicine. In Europe, Chris gained extensive experience working with Sacred Plant Medicines and their ritualistic ceremonial traditions.

Chris discovered his spiritual passion for Ayahuasca. After attending countless Ayahuasca religious ceremonies, he realized his true calling … to bring sacred plant medicine back to his homeland – the United States. In a visionary state, he was instructed to build an Ayahuasca Church, peach from the Ayahuasca Manifesto and bring the miraculous healing medicine of the spirit of Ayahuasca to folks back home. Chris and Verena chose Orlando, Florida to be ground zero for the Ayahuasca Church because of its perfect climate and easy access to its international airports.

For the first year Soul Quest Church of the Mother Earth operated out of a charming sanctuary in downtown Orlando called True Serenity. At True Serenity, Chris and Verena were able to begin offering healing ceremonies church services on a smaller scale. One year later, Chris and Verena purchased the 4.5 acres of land that now houses Soul Quest Church of the Mother Earth – a 5000 sq ft Ayahuasca church and healing retreat center. Soul Quest offers weekly church services on Sundays and a weekly healing support group via phone and web cast.

Chris is responsible for handling the administration activities of the church as well as organizing all aspects of the healing retreats. Chris is also actively involved in all Sacred Plant Medicine Ceremonies as the Medicine Man. Chris is supported by a number of traveling shamans (curanderos) and trained facilitators who provide nurturing guidance and unconditional loving support for all church members.
